September 25th, 2015. New York, USA – 193 Global Leaders from different countries committed to achieving 17 Global Goals in the next 15 years. The Sustainable Development Goals represent a new hope to fix climate change, ending poverty and fight inequality and injustice. Since five years ago, Dopper is contributing to this by encouraging people to reduce plastic single use waste and by supporting projects that bring clean drinking water to communities in Nepal. As a social enterprise contributing to a better world, we are happy that four of the new #GlobalGoals are linked to our mission. We will continue working to contribute to these goals and to make sure we achieve them by 2030.
We want to #TellEveryone about the #GlobalGoals. We are joining efforts with many other organizations and companies around the world to achieve these goals by 2030, but we couldn’t do this without you. You are the ones who are going to make this happen! By using Dopper, you are contributing to achieving 4 of the #GlobalGoals. Do you want to know which ones?
Goal 6 – Clean Water & Sanitation.
Ensure availability and sustainable management of water and sanitation for all, including access to drinking water. Through Dopper Foundation, we support projects that provide access to clean drinking water to rural communities.
Goal 12 – Responsible Consumption & Production.
Ensure sustainable consumption and production patterns. We are committed to sustainable design and to reduce plastic waste. With your help we contribute we’ll substantially reduce waste generation through prevention, reduction, recycling and reuse by 2030.
Goal 14 – Life Below Water.
Conserve and sustainably use the oceans, seas and marine resources for sustainable development. We know that plastics comprise up to 90% of floating marine debris. Countries have committed by 2025 to reduce marine pollution from all kinds. Yes! When you use your Dopper, you are actively contributing to reducing marine pollution.
Goal 15 – Life on Land.
Protect, restore and promote sustainable use of terrestrial ecosystems, sustainably manage forests, combat desertification, and halt and reverse land degradation and halt biodiversity loss. The production of water bottles represents a big hazard to ecosystems. The exacerbated use of oil and water that their production requires and the fact that plastics do not biodegrade, they break down into small particles, and they end up eaten by animals provoking an irreversible alteration of food chains and ecosystems.
Dopper is a proud supporter of the #GlobalGoals; we are happy to count with you in this endeavor. Show your Dopper and tell the world that you are contributing as well by using your Dopper every day, reducing plastic use and supporting projects to bring clean drinking water to communities in Nepal.
