Drink tap water

Dopper bottles were designed to be the best alternative to single-use plastic water bottles: a reusable water bottle to drink tap water from. That means your Dopper has been expertly tested and perfected for drinking, you guessed it, tap water.

Do you drink soft drinks, fruit juice and wine like it’s water? Use a different bottle. Drinks other than water can affect the Dopper parts.

Doppers in the dishwasher

Great news for those of us who like to let machines do our dirty work: your bottle can be cleaned in the dishwasher (just keep the temperature under 65 °C). Take your Dopper apart and stick all individual parts in the dishwasher. Though not too close to pan with decomposing pasta sauce or other truly dirty tableware, as that may cause discolouration.

Cleaning by hand

Prefer to wash by hand? Please avoid harsh chemicals so your water doesn’t end up tasting funny. Better for the environment and better for your taste buds.

If your bottle can use an extra thorough clean, mix some water and vinegar and let it soak (let it soooaak) overnight. Don’t forget to rinse it after.

Not quite clean enough? Fill your Dopper with some water and vinegar, add two tablespoons of baking soda and stir. Again, please rinse thoroughly before using it again. Trust us.

How to store

Always dry your Dopper well after cleaning and leave off the cap and cup when storing it (preferably outside the cupboard). Just like you, it likes to breathe.

Final words of wisdom

If your Dopper smells or you're experiencing weird-tasting water, this can often be cured by filling the bottle body with hot water and leaving it to stand for 30 minutes.

Never, ever use boiling water to clean your Dopper. While it’s quite the hero when it comes to saving our oceans, it wasn’t built to handle temperatures over 65 °C and may end up deformed and/or leaky *gasp*.
