Access to clean water is a human right. Here’s how we work with local partners to bring clean water to communities in Nepal.
Our mission is to end packaged water by getting everyone to drink from the tap. But how can we ask that, when not everyone is able to just refill?
Nepal is next to one of the largest freshwater reservoirs in the world. And yet, 81% don’t have access to clean drinking water. That needs to change.
Simavi exists to provide women and girls with clean water, sanitation and equal opportunities. We’ve worked with Simavi since Dopper was founded and with them we’ve installed hundreds of water points and toilets across Nepal.
Our work started in the southern district of Ruphendi, and in the Gorkha and Baglung districts. After teaming up with Simavi’s local partner Sebac, we extended our work to the Sindhupalchowk and Dolakha districts. In 2023, we started working with ENPHO and Biruwa on project Sarwacha to build a water-safe municipality in Changunarayan.
SmartPaani exists to provide sustainable, economical water-treatment solutions in Nepal. Made up of a team of technicians, researchers and local entrepreneurs SmartPaani have developed tools for rainwater harvesting, water filtration, recycling and wastewater treatment.
We’ve worked with SmartPaani since 2018 and our latest collaboration involved installing water filtration solutions across 10 schools in the Dhading, Sindhupalchok, Makwanpur, Ramechhap and Surkhet area.
