Dopper
September 7, 2020

You may have heard us say that Dopper is a sustainable company. And that everything we do is for our mission. Or perhaps your friend mentioned they have this good-looking new sustainable water bottle (go, friend!). Which you think is great, because sustainability is something we’re all in favour of. Right? Right.

But you may also wonder what it really means. And you’d be forgiven. Because sustainability is a broad concept, to put it mildly. To help you out, we’ve made a neat little overview. One that lists six specific ways in which sustainability is engrained in Dopper's way of working. So you can see for yourself: sustainability is in our drinking water. Cheers.

Have you spotted a big B on any of our communication? That’s because at Dopper, we don’t mess around. We have an opinion and we act on it. Better yet, we try to get others to act with us. So that together, we can create one big wave of impact. Which happens to be exactly what being a B Corporation(B Corp for short) is all about: doing more to be the change. A Certified B Corp (like Dopper whoop) meets high standards of social and environmental performance. Like, really high. There’s an assessment and everything. Curious? Continue reading here.

In July this year, we had something to celebrate. Because on what seemed like a regular old Tuesday, we received the news. The news that, as of that moment, all our bottles were Cradle to Cradle Certified. Original, Glass, Steel and Insulated – all of them tried and tested to fit in a circular economy.

After we had a bit of a party, we wrote you a blog to explain the ins and outs of Cradle to Cradle. In summary, it’s like working towards zero waste. In nature, there’s no such thing as waste, everything has a purpose. And that is exactly what we’re aiming for at Dopper. Cool? Read our Cradle to Cradle blog for more.

Ok, so this one has a little bit to do with point 1. In December 2019, we were incredibly proud to announce that Dopper, together with more than 500 other B Corporations, publicly committed to achieving net zero emissions by 2030. A bold commitment, sure. But also one that makes perfect sense After all, B Corps make a legal commitment to conduct business with consideration for the environment and all stakeholders. Curious about the statement we made? Read it here.

Our bottles end up all over the world. Which must mean everyone’s drinking tap water. Great. But although container ships are more eco-friendly per product than air freight (we did the math), shipping is typically far from clean. Luckily, we’ve found a partner that helps us reduce the CO2 emission of our shipping by 85%. Sound almost too good to be true? Read for yourself.

Dopper

Did you know that a Dopper doesn’t just help you ditch single-use plastic water bottles? Each bottle sold also empowers other people to choose a reusable water bottle instead of a single-use one. How that works? By buying a Dopper bottle, you support our education programmes, research, and awareness campaigns about plastic-free oceans. Plus, you help us kick-start clean drinking water projects in Nepal. Which you can read all about here.

On World Oceans Day in 2020, we revealed a magic trick that turns everyday people into plastic pollution-fighting, ocean-saving heroes. Ok, maybe there was no trick. But on that day in June, we kick-started a global movement against single-use water bottles: the Dopper Wave. A movement in which people and organisations from all over the world are saving our oceans with simple everyday actions. Definitely magical. Read their stories (and start your own?) here.
